ADDICT THE STORY

 

At the age of 14 Stephen caught stealing was sent to a locked asylum. Here he was sexually molested by a doctor and given amphetamine. He became addicted and for the next twenty years took up to 100 tablets a day. Drugs led him into a bizarre life of crime and lunacy. He became involved in London’s crime scene beginning aged fifteen as look out boy for “Gentleman George” on the Sophia Loren jewel robbery. As he got older he drove the getaway car on audacious robberies. Living on the edge as a wealthy playboy his drug addiction spiralled out of control. Loosing his sanity and now psychotically paranoid he hid over £100,000 in boxes all over London. As the drugs finally took their toll he went mad and was admitted to an asylum where he was given electric shock treatment wiping out his memory. For the next five years he lived as a hobo sleeping in shop doorways, park benches and Salvation Army Missions. When all seemed lost roaming the streets he met a German student. They fell in love and Stephen conquered his life long addiction. Today a businessman with two grown up sons he has homes in London and Munich.  Stephen’s biography Addict has sold over 1.2 million copies worldwide. Stephen works with the homeless and is currently registering the Addict charity to open day clinics.
